Beautiful, original set of antique art deco nude female scarf dancer bookends.  Circa 1925.  This set was made by Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, PA.  The dancers are up on one toe with one leg raised and both arms up holding the scarf. Adorable. Each bookend stands 6" tall, 5 1/2" wide, 2 1/2" deep and weighs 2 lbs. (4 lbs. for the pair).  They are made of solid cast iron with a copper finish.  They are in very good original antique condition.  Authenticity is assured as both bookends are incised with the Hubley number '73' on the rear.

Hubley Manufacturing Company was incorporated in 1894 in Lancaster, PA by John Hubley.  They were highly diversified in their product line which included:  cast iron toys cars, motorcycles, doorstops, bookends, and desk accessories.  They are particularly well known for their detailed 1:25 scale metal kits from the 1930’s.  Their products are all highly collectible and have lasted for generations.
