Lovely old, original set of bookends featuring the elegant gazelle peacefully grazing in the grasses. Circa 1930.  They have the original polychrome finish in various green tones that shows beautifully. Each bookend stands 6 1/2" tall, 5 3/4" long, 3" wide and weighs 2 lbs. 3 oz. (4 lbs. 6 oz. for the pair).  They are in very good condition.  There is minor finish loss.  On the back there is reddish residue perhaps from some old stickers.  These were made by the Ronson Company (Louis V. Aronson) circa 1930.  Ronson is well known for their lighters.  They also made a variety of metal arts products.  Their bookends were outstanding and due to their high quality and fine finishes have lasted through the years.  Ronson products are highly collectible.
